Tools You’ll Need

Rolling pin

Baking sheet

Parchment paper

Dog themed cookie cutter (we chose a cute paw but a dog bone also works!)

Dog Treat Ingredients

1 cup peanut butter – creamy (our go to is always reduced fat JIF)

2 eggs

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (all purpose or oat flour also works)

3/4 cup water

Step by Step

1. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

3. In a large bowl mix together the peanut butter and eggs until combined.

3. Add in the whole wheat flour and water. Beat until a dough forms.

4. Roll the dough out to be 1/4 inch thick.

5. Cut out your dough with your choice of cookie cutter or design.

6. Put cut out dough on your baking sheet with parchment paper about an inch apart.

7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are a light golden color.

8. Let cool.

Dog Friendly Icing Ingredients

1/3 cup cornstarch (or tapioca starch)

1/4 cup water

3 tsp. honey

Step by Step:

  1. Combine your cornstarch water and honey and mix until its combined.
  2. Add water a tsp. at a time if it’s still to thick until you have the consistency you want. It will end up being thin and runny but it will harden over time.
  3. Grab a piping bag or frosting container with tip and frost your treats.
  4. Let harden about 5-10 min.
  5. Enjoy!
