We had seen a few options out there with the incorporation of cream cheese in the frosting, so we took a stab at it and here we are! I know, I know. Before you turn your nose up, hear us out. To our surprise (well, not really 😂), it got rave reviews all around! Everyone actually loved the pretty subtle incorporation of the cream cheese. Honestly, this is next level stuff here, y’all. Seriously! It’s not overly mouth-coating thick or cheesy. Truly, it brings an even more textured flavor to the cake that makes it denser, more flavorful and creamy. It compliments the coconut flakes perfectly and isn’t overly sweet like you sometimes get with vanilla buttercreams.
So, that’s how the new Coconut Cake Ball flavor was born. If you are looking for something sweet, not exactly vanilla, and has spring/summer flavor, then this recipe is your jam.
