Caramel Turtle Cookies

These Turtle Cookies combine my love for both turtle chocolates and cookies.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet milk, or dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 3/4 cup caramel bits/chips

Liquid Ingredients

  • 1 cup 2 sticks/4 half-sticks butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grab a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium sized bowl
  • Cream your butter and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy
  • Mix in your eggs and vanilla
  • Mix in your dry ingredients a little at a time until combined.
  • Fold in your nuts, chocolate chips, and caramel chips.
  • Drop dough onto your baking sheet/parchment paper (1-2 teaspoons in size) and be sure to allow a few inches in between.
  • Bake for 9-10 minutes. You only want to edges to be a bit golden. (Mine only took 9 minutes or less, so watch them to ensure they don't over bake!)
  • Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes and enjoy!

Notes

Things to Know Upfront/Quick Tips
  • These will bake pretty fast, so keep an eye on them to ensure they don't over bake/burn!
  • If you want less flat/thicker cookies, place the dough or formed balls in the refrigerator for at least an hour before baking.
  • You will need caramel chips or bits. You can find generic brands at the grocery store or get the Kraft brand here.
