Y’all…it’s time. That’s right. We said it. 🤷🏼‍♀️😎 Pull out the garland, string all of the lights, deck your halls, and be merry AF! Okay…okay. We know. It’s November. Not even the end of the month…Thanksgiving hasn’t even happened! 😱 Yea, yea…okay. Now that we’ve all calmed down. Let’s get real. We don’t need this…we all NEEEEED this. We need all of the holly, all of the fa-la-la we can get. #sorrynotsorry 🎄

After all that has been endured this year, we need normal. We need nostalgia of good times. We need some comfort and joy. Holiday family traditions, treats, and nostalgic flavors are some of the things that we think (and can probably bet on 100%) will help you reminisce, get away from it all, and get back to the good times this holiday season. 😊

And, one flavor that says HOLIDAYS is for sure PECAN PIE! 🥜🥧 Woohoo! We wanted to whip up something simple, easy to snack on, but still brings the sweet marriage of brown sugar, toasted pecan and hints of caramel flavors that pecan pie brings to the table. And because – it’s 2020 (enough said), we threw in some booze to make it perfect! Why not, right?!🥃🤷

That is how our Boozy Bourbon Pecan Pie Bark became THE snack of yours and our 2020 holiday season. Easily make this with or without bourbon, but I mean…. 🙃🤓

The best part (other than the booze) is that you can customize this any way you want. Just like any kind of bark you can throw together, you can throw in other nuts, ooo even some shredded coconut 🤤, omit those items you don’t care for, or add in the kitchen sink. Heck! It’s. 2020! I think we’ve all caught on by now. Anything goes! And, as always…we never judge on improvisation.

Grab your bourbon, take a sip, and let’s go show 2020 who’s boss… 🤗

What You Need

Parchment paper

Baking sheet/pan

Chocolate

1 1/2 cups of dark chocolate chips

Caramel Sauce

1 cup of heavy cream or coconut milk

1 cup of maple syrup or agave

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/4 tsp. salt

OR 1 cup of caramel baking bits

Toppings

1 1/2 cups of chopped pecan pieces

2 Tbsp. of your favorite Bourbon (optional)

Step by Step

1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

2. Toast your chopped pecans in the oven for 10 min at 350 degrees. You want them to be dark and toasted. Set aside.

3. Prep two medium sauce pans. In one pan over medium heat make your caramel sauce by adding your cream or coconut milk, maple syrup, salt and vanilla together. Let it get to a boil and then let it sit there for 10 min. Then reduce the heat and stir occasionally for 5-6 min until it begins to thicken and coats the back of a spoon. **If you don’t want to make your own caramel or want to save time you can also melt caramel chips smooth. Once caramel is melted, mix in a Tbsp. bourbon (optional).

4. In the other sauce pan over medium heat, melt the dark chocolate until nice and smooth. Once melted mix in 1 Tbsp. of bourbon (optional)..

5. Pour your melted dark chocolate onto your parchment paper. Using a knife or spreader, thin out the chocolate to about 1/8 inch thick. Pour spoonfuls of caramel on top of the dark chocolate or just spread over in a random fashion. Take a knife and swirl your chocolate and caramel sauces together to create swirls and mix together.

6. Top with your toasted pecan pieces and any other additional toppings you want to include and gently press the pecan pieces down gently so it sticks to the chocolate.

7. Move to the freezer or fridge for 30-45 minutes to harden.

8. Once set, use a knife to cut into smaller pieces, or simply pull up off the parchment paper and break up into pieces with your hands.

Note: Store in an airtight container for up to 7-10 days in the fridge, or store in the freezer for up to 3 weeks.
