We know most of you are sheltering at home and are grasping to find fun things to do or to possibly sharpen your baking skills? We hope so! While you have more time at home, we have just the recipe for you to try!
You know the good ol’ saying, Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!? Well, everyone loves a good Snickerdoodle cookie! Amirite!? So, we thought about how we could transfer that flavor into a bite sized piece of cake! Because, come on, why not cake!? The rest was history and this yummy recipe was born!
We took our delicious homemade vanilla cake recipe (trust us, it’s amazing) and added in a trick we got from fellow blogger, Sally’s Baking Addiction! She’s genius! We took cinnamon and brown sugar and swirled it into our vanilla cake recipe to create cake that actually tastes like a Snickerdoodle cookie! We then added the Cinnamon Sugar frosting recipe and combined it with our cake, rolled them up into balls, and bam! Snickerdoodle Cake Balls!
So, come on! You’re already home! Grab your ingredients babes, and get bakin’ and rollin’. Enjoy!
Our Classic Vanilla Cake As we always say, you can opt for a store bought cake mix, but we start with our vanilla cake from our favorite homemade recipe. Feel free to use our recipe below, or use your own.

These look yummy. I make all kinds of cake balls in different flavors and was thinking of trying a cinnamon cake. I never would of thought to do the cinnamon swirl, great idea. One thing I can’t understand though is why no one has figured out to use a food processor to crumble their cake. I’ve been doing this for years after making my first cake balls by hand and realizing there had to be a better way. After processing to crumbs, just stir in your frosting and mix. It’s much faster and a lot less messy. Thanks for the great recipe.
Hi Joy! Yes, this recipe is definitely a winner! Using a food processor for the cake is also a great option for mixing the frosting and cake. You just don’t want to process it too much. With some of the recipes, since it makes so much cake, we like to also whip the frosting in a standing mixer, then change to the paddle attachment, and then add in the cake to it in pieces and it helps mix them as well.
Let us know if you make this recipe! Happy baking!
