God bless Texas and its year-round warm weather! On those rare days that the temperature dips below 50, my friends know better than to think I am coming out of “hibernation”. I mean, isn’t that what everyone does when it’s cold? Anyways…80+ degree days are my jam, so as soon as summer decided to grace us with her presence early (which is usually the case around the end of winter and beginning of spring in Texas), I immediately did what all Texans do. I pulled out all the summer essentials including shorts, tank tops, swimsuits (well, at least tried some on to see what I am working with) and sunglasses. Then, I hit the pool and started craving warm weather cocktails! 🙂
When I lounge poolside I prefer something bubbly, refreshing, and if my beverage happens to be pink then that is an added bonus! Therefore, a delicious Paloma cocktail always checks all those boxes. Palomas are extremely easy to mix together, so you will have plenty of time to spend having fun in the sun.
Our Light & Bubbly Paloma simply calls for grapefruit soda, tequila, limes, and you are all set! Plus, our version is under 100 calories, which is perfect for those of us who are trying to get beach ready!
Lastly, since a Paloma is a very popular cocktail in Mexico, trust me when I say that it is perfectly paired with some chips and salsa. You’re welcome! Stir up a few and enjoy the warm weather with your friends outside by the pool!
TIP: Playing with the shape of your ice cubes is always a fun way to dress up a cocktail. You can use simple basic ice cubes, or try your cocktail poured over an ice sphere (a personal favorite). Find ice sphere molds online by clicking here.
