All kinds of fun cocktails and delicious food can be discovered across New Orleans. I love the fact that you can walk down Bourbon Street and find every type of cuisine imaginable, many with a cajun twist. Before I get distracted by telling you about how much I love Cafe Du Monde’s beignets and how much I dream about them (all that powdered sugar, though! ?), let me pull myself back to the reason for this particular post….a Mardi Gras cocktail.
There is one cocktail that we decided perfectly celebrates the bold spirit of New Orleans and captures all that is Mardi Gras. The Hurricane. And, let’s be honest. They are delicious! So, we wanted to find a way to keep all the flavor that a traditional Hurricane provides, but deliver it without all of the calories. This is where the Heavenly Hurricane was born. With a few substitutions of a couple of lower calorie ingredients, this libation is not only tasty, but with less guilt! We are confident you will add this to your list of favorite skinny cocktails.
I can see myself now…walking down the French Quarter, Hurricane in hand, with iconic jazz music playing as I dance the night away. Give this girl some beads! Laissez les bons temps rouler! ??
