My boyfriend and I love chocolate chip cookies, but peanut butter is truly what has his heart. He is probably peanut butter’s biggest fan. He eats it right out of the jar with the biggest spoon we happen to have on hand. Whenever he senses I am in the kitchen and baking prep is in progress, he always asks if there is a possibility that peanut butter could be incorporated. Sigh. So, I decided to make sure he got his peanut butter fix this time with these ah-mazing peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. They are probably the best peanut butter cookies I have ever tried. Then, the almost obnoxious amount of chocolate chips added into the mix creates something only true cookie lovers will appreciate. If you take a chance on these cookies, you will not be disappointed.
Things to Know Upfront/Quick Tips
The only warning I have to share is to eat these cookies at your own risk. They are truly addicting. 🙂
What You Need
Dry Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Liquid/Other Ingredients:
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Step by Step
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium sized mixing bowl go ahead and combine your flour, salt and baking powder. Then, set aside.
- In a larger mixing bowl, combine your butter, sugar, brown sugar and peanut butter. Using a hand mixer, mix all ingredients together until combined. Add in your egg, milk and vanilla. Mix until combined.
- Fold in your dry ingredients from the medium mixing bowl until combined.
- Lastly, add in your chocolate chips and mix just until they are combined throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, place tablespoon sized balls of dough onto your pan lined with parchment paper. Place them a few inches apart. You may also roll the dough into balls before you place them onto your pan if you prefer. Press each cookie down with a fork.
- Bake cookies for 8 – 10 minutes. *Note: I stuck with 8 minutes and they were perfect! I firmly believe that an undercooked cookie is always better than an overcooked one. 🙂

Notes
To keep your cookies soft and fresh for days, store your cookies in an airtight container. Place them in between layers of parchment paper, and add a piece of bread.
