New Year’s Eve Countdown Cocktail Spritzer

7.4K

Sure, you can serve champagne at your New Year’s Eve bash like everyone else, or you can stand out by featuring something different like our New Year’s Eve Countdown Cocktail Spritzer (or, in addition to the traditional bubbly). 🙂

This year I have been in love with spritzers. It all started during a trip to Cabo to celebrate my 30th birthday with my twin sister, her boyfriend, and some close friends. Our BFF Vanessa asked for a white wine spritzer on the plane ride there. Intrigued, I asked for one as well. Well…the rest is history. Thanks to Vanessa, this is my new obsession! They are so light and crisp! We sipped on these throughout the afternoon and they were perfectly refreshing while hanging out in the hot sun all day! Each time I enjoy a white wine spritzer it truly reminds me of how amazing 2016 was for me. So, why not sip on them as I ring in another amazing year to come!

These are light, refreshing, low calorie, and super easy to make! A great option if you decide to serve these at a party is to set up a mini station featuring champagne glasses, bottles of white wine and spritzer options for guests to easy create their own New Year’s Eve Countdown Cocktail Spritzer!

But, don’t forget the grapes! This is something new I am trying this year after hearing about this fun tradition. The Twelve Grapes (or “the twelve grapes of luck”) is a Spanish tradition and it follows the idea that eating a grape with each bell strike up until midnight on New Year’s Eve will bring good luck to you in the New Year. Some individuals follow this tradition differently, making a wish with each grape they eat, and others think eating the grapes at midnight before the New Year starts will simply provide good luck and prosperity in the New Year to come. However you decide to follow the tradition, this is a really fun way to ring in 2017.

I simply placed 12 grapes on skewers for guests to add to the spritzer as a garnish, or they can grab one before the final countdown to participate in the Twelve Grapes practice. Add this fun tradition to your New Year’s Eve bash and your friends will remember it forever!

Things to Know Upfront/Quick Tips

  • Make sure you have a pretty champagne flute to display this in. It is New Year’s Eve after all! 🙂
