Things to Know Upfront/Quick Tips
- You’ll need to chill these for 1-2 hours before baking.
What You Need
Dry Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons corn starch
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sprinkles (I went ahead and did 1 cup – why not!)
Liquid/Other Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp almond extract
Step By Step
In one smaller bowl combine your dry ingredients except your sugar: flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a larger (main) bowl cream your butter and sugar along with the egg and vanilla/almond extracts. Beat the ingredients together until fully combined and fluffy. This will take about 5-7 minutes. Then add in the rest of your dry ingredients from the bowl you set aside. Mix until just combined. Then lastly, add in your sprinkles and mix until just combined/folded in.
Let the dough chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours or longer. Then take your dough out to get to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes. Set your oven to 350 degrees.
Spoon out dough to form 1-2 teaspoon balls and spread them about 2 inches from each other on parchment paper or slipmat.
Bake for 8 minutes. You want them to still be pale and a bit under-baked. They will firm more after cooling.
