Matcha Pistachio Dark Chocolate Truffles

Matcha! 🍡 It’s the ingredient that everyone is talking about these days. It delivers a handful of healthy benefits like boosting your metabolism (which will help your body burn more calories), calming the mind, enhancing your mood, and so much more. Plus, it is packed with antioxidants to keep you healthy and happy. We can definitely get behind an ingredient like that! πŸ‘πŸ»

Matcha can be used in so many ways. Matcha green tea is a favorite of ours, or even a delicious Matcha Latte. But, we wanted to take this ingredient a little bit further by sharing a fun recipe that we use it in. And, yes…it’s a recipe that includes chocolate. What’s not to love!?

We paired Matcha powder with dark chocolate (another great source of antioxidants and other great health benefits) to create these delicious Matcha Pistachio Dark Chocolate Truffles. These are seriously decedant, y’all.

They pack a serious chocolate punch that is sure to keep your sweet cravings under control. Trust us. One or two of these babies is all you need. And you’re getting your matcha and dark chocolate benefits too! Win-win! πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ«

What You Need

1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips

3/4 cup heavy whipping creamΒ  (OR 3/4 cup milk + 1/3 cup butter)

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. matcha powder

chopped pistachios and matcha powder to use for coatingΒ (I put mine in a food processor/blender for 2-3 seconds)

Step by Step

  1. Combine your chocolate chips and vanilla in a bowl and set aside
  2. Heat your heavy cream in a saucepan on medium-high until it starts to simmer/bubble around the edges
  3. Pour cream over your chocolate/vanilla and whisk carefully until everything is combined and smooth
  4. Add in your Matcha powder
  5. Place your mixture in the fridge for about 2-6 hours (or even overnight) to firm up for scooping later.
  6. Scoop Tbsp. size balls of the mixture and roll into balls.
  7. Roll your balls in the pistachio and/or matcha topping (or any other topping you prefer that is healthy such as unsweetened coconut flakes)
  8. Keep refrigerated.
