Mom’s Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

4.8K

Today we are sharing our family’s favorite recipe for Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Cookies! They are a perfect option to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the moments in between (not even kidding!). Packed with so much flavor from the oats, cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet raisins, these cookies will definitely become one that your friends and family will continue to ask you to make. The taste is unforgettable and irresistible.

Not only does our mom pass down her incredible baking and cooking skills to my sister and me, she also passes down a whole lot of family favorite recipes that we seriously can’t get enough of. Our mom crafted this particular recipe when she was in high school (crazy awesome!), and she has been making them ever since. She probably didn’t know it at the time (or did she?), but she was sure wise beyond her years!

Each time we make these Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Cookies we can’t even help but eat some of the batter before they even go into the oven! They are that good. Not to mention, they will fill your home up with a sinfully sweet aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins….oh em gee…we are already drooling!

These were also our Granny’s favorite cookie, hands down. 🙂 We would bake her a batch of these and she would ration them for as long as possible, enjoying one each day until they were gone. They became a highlight of her day, sitting down to enjoy one of these cookies with her favorite cup of tea. Boy did she have some strong willpower! Therefore, we highly suggest enjoying one of these Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Cookies alongside your favorite cup of tea, just like our Granny loved to do.
